Request for Qualifications

The Town of Aurora requested Statements of Qualifications from qualified firms to provide professional engineering services for the Downtown Sewer Lines and Related Fixtures Project.

The project is funded through the North Carolina Division of Water Infrastructure and will replace approximately 2,400 linear feet of existing gravity sewer line in the northeastern section of Aurora. The project does not include an expansion of the existing sewer system.

The project area includes Aurora’s downtown commercial district and surrounding residential neighborhood. It is generally bounded by:

  • Baileys Creek to the north
  • Fifth Street to the west
  • Chapin Street to the south
  • The Pamlico River to the east

The project will begin with the preparation of an environmental and engineering report for approval by the North Carolina Division of Water Infrastructure.

Requested Professional Services

The selected engineering firm will provide services that may include:

  • Engineering and project design
  • Detailed construction drawings and specifications
  • Preparation of contract and bidding documents
  • Opinions of probable project cost
  • Local, state and federal permitting
  • Professional surveying
  • Wetlands identification
  • Geotechnical investigations
  • Assistance with contractor selection and bidding
  • Construction administration and observation
  • Project and grant-administration coordination with the Town and Mid-East Commission

All designs must comply with applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
