Water, Sewer & Trash Payments
The Town accepts cash, checks, and mailed payments for water, sewer, and trash service. Credit-card and online payments are not currently available.
Current Bills
Payment is due by 10:00 a.m. on the 15th of each month. A 10% late fee applies after the deadline.
Previous Past-Due Balances
Past-due balances must be paid by 10:00 a.m. on the 5th of each month. Failure to pay will result in disconnection. Full payment and a $50 reconnection fee are required before service is restored.
Weekend and holiday deadlines: If a payment deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, it extends to the next business day.

New Residents — Starting Water Service
New customers must apply for water service at Aurora Town Hall. A deposit is required, and the amount varies by customer type. Call 252-322-4611 or visit Town Hall for application requirements and current deposit information.
Household Trash Collection
Regular trash collection is Monday morning. Place trash carts at the curb by 6:00 p.m. Sunday, because collection may occasionally begin Sunday night.
Holiday schedule: A holiday pushes collection to the following day.
Public Works
Aurora Public Works maintains Town-owned property and infrastructure, including:
Patching potholes on Town-maintained streets
Mowing public grass and grounds
Reading water meters
Repairing Town-maintained water and sewer lines
Addressing maintenance needs on Town-maintained property
To report a Public Works concern, call Town Hall at 252-322-4611. Public Works does not perform work on private property or infrastructure not maintained by the Town.
Free Yard Debris Disposal for Aurora Residents
Aurora residents may take yard debris to the public landfill at 118 Old Campbells Road at no charge.
The Town does not provide curbside or private-property yard debris removal, but this convenient disposal option is available for residents who transport their debris directly to the landfill. Please follow posted operating hours and disposal requirements.
Electrical Service & Streetlights
Duke Energy provides electrical service in Aurora. Contact Duke directly to establish or change service, report an electrical-service issue, or report a damaged or malfunctioning streetlight.
The Aurora Community Center is available for private gatherings, community activities, meetings, and special events. Contact Town Hall at 252-322-4611 for current rates, availability, requirements, and reservations.
Important Utility Notices
Do Not Pour Fats, Oils or Grease Down the Drain
Fats, oils and grease can harden inside sewer lines, cause costly blockages, and damage the Town’s wastewater system. Allow grease to cool, place it in a sealed container, and dispose of it with household trash.
