In August 2025, the Town of Aurora applied for a Community Development Block Grant to support the replacement of water and sewer lines in the northeastern section of Town, approximately bounded by Fifth Street, Pearl Street, the Pamlico River, and Bailey Creek.
As part of the grant application process, the Town partnered with the Mid-East Commission Council of Governments to conduct income surveys within the proposed project area. Representatives visited residents on August 13 and August 14, 2025, to collect the information required for the grant application.
This outreach helped support the Town’s continuing efforts to pursue funding for improvements to Aurora’s water and sewer infrastructure.
