The Town of Aurora is proud to celebrate an important new addition to the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department — Engine 6011, a custom fire engine that combines modern firefighting capability with a tribute to Aurora’s history.
The new engine features black and gold accents honoring the school colors of Aurora High School and S.W. Snowden, along with an original Aurora High School Trojan proudly displayed on the truck.
Engine 6011 will replace a 1983 Ford fire engine, bringing updated equipment and capabilities to the volunteers who serve Aurora and the surrounding community.
The arrival represents more than new equipment for the department. Its design carries a piece of Aurora’s past forward while helping the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department prepare for the community’s future.
Local news organizations WITN and WCTI 12 have also featured the new engine and its significance to Aurora.
